Women
It started with one woman's vision for world-class whisky from an island off the west coast of Norway. Today, around 1,100 women have invested in Feddie Ocean Distillery.
We want to shake things up in the investment world. Women are still behind when it comes to the stock market and investing. Men own around 80 percent of the stock market’s value. They own more because they invest more. That’s why we want to inspire more women to get involved, take risks, and invest.
We offer our investors digital beginner courses in investing. We also organise networking events, bar visits, tastings, investor weekends on Fedje, and gin and whisky festival visits. We’re all about sharing knowledge and building our investor network, so that ideas and business partnerships can flourish.
Ownership in transition
There’s a lot happening with female ownership and investment these days and we’re all for initiatives that inspire more women to invest and own shares. We’re working hard to ensure women have a huge role to play in a bolder, more equal future.
At Feddie, both women and men work together. We support co-ownership for all our employees and for the women and men who have contributed their expertise to develop Feddie. This means we have 100% female investors, but 96% female shareholders – because our male colleagues also own shares in the company.
Our articles of association state that only women can invest in Feddie, and we will only change that rule when women’s investments and share of society’s wealth match that of men’s.
